The packaged scales

The scales (and DRO) took nearly a month to get here from Singapore; very well packaged no trace of damage.  The was one annoying hitch by DHL: The second package (the scales) was NOT delivered on time as the driver apparently went to the wrong address and marked it “undelivered – nobody home” – which was totally incorrect! After a month of waiting I was nearly standing at the door…  but, it did come the next day, and the installation began.

Below are pix of the scales and DRO package it self.  I did a quick test of each scale and the DRO; all appeared to be in fine order.

Scales and supplied brackets

Most of the supplied cast aluminum brackets were too big for an X2 mill install. I didn't use any of the covers (right) either.  Space is a bit tight; I'll just have to be careful.

Read-head retainer

The read-heads are stabilized with these plastic shipping inserts. They also hold the head a off the track just a bit. They have to be removed to move the head, but can be used to help mounting alignment.

Ready for testing

The scales are hooked to the DRO for the first test.  The X-axis and Y-Axis lead screws and end plates are shown as well.
