Adding the Lead-screw upgrade

Adding the 20-TPI leadscrew is not difficult, but as you are probably new to the machine, the dis-assembly of the table and saddle may be a bit daunting at first.  The instructions provided by The Little Machine Shop (LMS) are (if dated) quite adequate, and not a hard job.

Here is the mill column off the base. Air spring done; next is the base and lead screw replacements (X & Y).

Here the mill base and saddle can be seen, with the table inverted on the right.

Re-assembly of table and column

With the X & Y leadscrews replaced, now the machine goes onto it's table.  I found a 17" length of 2"x10" makes the perfect base to raise the table adequately to clear the hand-wheels.
